Listening to a syndicated radio show they reported through reserach that 37% of all men and only 13% of all women have engaged in some form of homosexuality to the point of a climax. Do you agree with these numbers? They said only 4% of the men actually admit to being gay or involved with homesexual acitivities. Based on these numbers there are a lot of men on the Down Low.

that seems high to me.  i have no facts or figures.  just my gut saying GTFOH!  now if they had said 12%, i might believe it.

Those numbers do seem high... WTF. I know there are a lot of brothas out there w the secret lives, but didn't know it was like that. 
I say to the ladies, check the bitch tendencies. Especially here in the A. I never really had to think about this growin up in NJ. I don't know if it was just hidden or what, but this is crazzzzy.
I've had a girl ask me that dumb ass question before. If a brotha is on the downlow he's not going to tell u the truth, so why ask?? I just say check his actions and who he's talkn to. If he has bitch friends, its a good chance he's one too.

Don't know about the accuracy of the numbers, but here in the ATL I would believe it.  I have a good gay friend and I often go to some of the parties he has, and you would not believe how often I out someone at his events.

Although I'm not a man...I dont believe that in this day and age that question should be offensive.  LL's got a point--if he's in the closet he won't admit it anyway, but still no harm in asking the question. And for the record....ALL gays don't exhibit "bitch tendancies".  I have been surprised to find out that some real Alpha-type males are playing for the other team.

I don't know that the numbers themselves affect dating, however the whole DL thing has definitely changed my approach to dating & elevated my concerns regarding casual sex (which I'm not condeming btw) to another level.

No disrespect to the original author, but what does being black have to do with the statement that says "  37% of all men ".  The first question really carries no substance adding to the original statement.  I would understand the first question though if it said that about Black men in Atlanta.  However, I still wouldn't think it's an inappropraite statment considering all the Black switch hitters we pass every day in this city.

You're abolutely correct that my first question had nothing to do with the 37% of all men nor did it provide the substance you were probably looking for because it was more about the perception of how black men are viewed. The term "Down Low" is directed towards Black men as I'm sure they contribute at least half of that percentage.

That percentage is low in the scheme of things.  For me it is not a worry or concern because of the stats and because those types are in a community of minds that think alike.  As you well can tell, my mind is different on that there subject.  Because of it there is no allure from them to me.  I usually attract a brother that show's strenght in his convictions, those types usually don't show too much character.
