The Big Black Booty Secret

Countless young Black women spend their precious time trying to achieve a video vixen figure in order to feel better about themselves and appeal to Black men. Even models and strippers who work in the entertainment industry admittedly reveal they were not born with big butts. They built them. The plump and fat booty with hips and thighs shaped like a coke bottle have become standard within the industry because of techniques that have remained a secret among sex workers. This coveted secret that directly sends fat below the waistline has been sought out by ordinary sistahs in the community.
Unfortunately, the media, music videos and peers have placed added pressure and insecurities in the minds of women and have told them that they must have a big butt in order to achieve status, success, financial independence, and most importantly, to secure a man. Thus, children grow up with the same insecurities as adults. As a result, strippers and video vixens, who were once looked down upon because of their lewd and exploitive behavior, have become the prototype of beauty among many Black girls.
Beyond porn star secrets, Black women are resorting to exercises, butt implants, enlargement injections, Brazilian butt lifts, pills, potions and lotions in order to obtain the symbol of Black womanhood: the booty. Black women from Jamaica, Haiti and America’s southern states, where large populations of Caribbeans reside, are known for ingesting ‘Fowl Pills’ to obtain a bigger rear-end. These are pills used by farmers to fatten farm animals, particularly chickens.
Many Black women in the United States who desire a bigger, rounder and fuller butt are stashing away cash to get ‘Butt Surgery’. But not all medical procedures are made the same. While some can afford to go to licensed medical physicians to get gluteoplasty (butt augmentation surgery), others are settling for the more affordable butt injections.
Though medical procedures can cost upwards of $15,000 to $20,000, many are opting for the ‘ghetto hook up’. For a price of $500 to $3,000 many women are opting for the illegal and potentially lethal cosmetic treatment. Unlicensed buttpreneurs are traveling across the country conducting ‘Butt Pumping Parties’ within hotel rooms and private homes with a gallon jug of silicone in one hand and a fist full of syringes in the other offering to inject women with ‘Hydrogel’.
Hydrogel is a liquid-based substance made up of 95% water and 5% polyacrylamide and is typically used as skin filler for wrinkles and depressed scars. Unfortunately, many women aren’t getting Hydrogel pumped into their bodies. Instead, these Hydrogel promoters use over-the-counter industrial-grade silicone purchased in hardware stores which are typically used as sealant to help close small openings that are difficult to shut with other materials such as concrete or drywall. This substance is known for having toxic contaminants.
This foreign substance is injected into the body and then seeps into the bloodstream, nerves and organs. It isn’t sterile and may cause infections all throughout the body. While some leave the surgery table with no complications, others have been known to have severe cases of vomiting, back pain, diarrhea, muscle deterioration, extreme weight loss, blood clots, failed kidneys and lungs, and possibly even death.
With all that said, so many women want to continue with the procedure in hopes of finally obtaining a Big ‘Ole Butt. Based upon the big butt craze you would think that being a sistah without a booty is a handicap. That somehow they’re less of a woman. This thinking has affected many women’s self esteem and overall perception of themselves. While the quest for a bigger butt may offer a form of satisfaction, it is no guarantee of one’s overall happiness.

Of course someone is going to come in here and (illogically) say it's the mens' fault for wanting women with big butts. Wait for it............

Wow, I was not aware of this 'big booty' epidemic. Honestly, I never heard of any black women taking pills or going under the knife to attain a bigger booty. WOW!
In any light, I don't have that problem. Men rave about my shape all the time & my 'booty' has gotten bigger with age. |

To my knowledge I haven't dated a woman with a fake-me-out booty. Wouldn't the silicone make it unbearably hard? How could one play the bongo's on a hardened booty?
When he dropped that "unlicensed buttpreneurs" term I had to laugh out loud. Lookin' like Schneider off "One Day At A Time." If I were a buttpreneur, I would have to leave some kind of mark on the booty to let folks know how my work compares to the knock-off packages. |

I'm aware of the desires and how sistas with plump butt tends to make sure it is known by the brothas. Like most brothas, I love a nice juicy rump to snuggle up to, but like most brothas who been to the tenth, fifteenth, and twentiest class reunion... a fat ass at 25 can easy turn into that lumpy cheese ass that spread out all over the bed at 35.
Sistas put too much stock on their bodies and their style of dress, etc, especially when they are younger, but when your hear and look at the end results, it doesn't do a damn thing for most in the long run. My girl has what brothas would call a "Phat ass", and I remember her always putting on those tight ass jeans or some form fitting clothing everytime we went out. I made a few comments about her always sporting tight jeans and other clothing. I'm like, why do you have a cloths overflowing with dresses and other cloths, when all you put on are tight jeans. A nice shape will take a sista but so far. Yeah, she will get play, dates, comments, etc, but just listen to the throngs of once fine ass 35 or 40 year old sistas talk about men... they complain and bitch like everyone else about why they ain't got no man. I learned years ago, that many of these fine and fat ass sistas can pull them in, but can't do anything with the man once she get him. |

The big booty syndrome is becoming an issue. Some of us were born with the goods, but many were not. Celebrities like Niki Minaj have undergone the butt surgery. I didn't believe it at first because she is black and it does look natural on her. BUT after you tubing Niki...she indeed did go through the surgery. You cannot grow a booty from absolutely nothing in two years and after scoping out her old you tube footage...she definitely went under the knife. Not to mention celebrities in question; such as, the Kardashian sisters (momma does not have an azz, so unless daddy was blessed with a high booty--I must say they may've all gone under the knife. Even their lil sisters aren't working with booties).
I've preached on this before and I will say it again. Women have very fragile bodies; the human body isn't as strong as most people would like to think. When introducing anything foreign to the body; such as, butt implants & injections...you are putting yourself at risk for so many things. If that implant leaks, you might die. I just can't see why someone would want to take that risk. I can't even imagine the upkeep associated with this surgery. One of my girls back in college always wanted a bigger booty and when she left the country (supposidly to go back home), she came back with a bigger booty. Countless people asked me if she got a butt implant and It's hard for me to say. She's always had hips and she gained about 40 pounds when she left the country to I told them all she was just heavier than they'd remember her being. But in the back of my mind, I've always wondered if she got an implant. She's been loosing a lot of weight (wantingly) lately.. .it's just hard to tell. She asked me what I thought of her butt back in college and I told her...I honestly don't remember her having one and she looked great with the weight. I haven't seen her since she's gotten skinny so we'll see what the verdict is. |

Hmmm Perpetual, you may need to call in some expert opinions on that difficult situation you outlined with your friend. Perhaps posting some photos to let the brothers get a look-see as I'm sure we are all willing to help a sister out concerning the stress it is causing.

@WO: LMAO -- men have been the one's to ask me about her booty and I will just tell them it's the weight she's put on (with confusion -- you know when she asked me about her college years, she blamed the booty on drinking a lot soda..which really sounded like a lie). I may just have to show ya'll some before and after pics on her booty>>ya'll are the booty experts.

I've heard of some horror stories for women getting injected with pool sealant. You could tell that it didn't look right, especially when the sealant would "harden." They would have to get the sealant cut out to get it fixed. It's not that serious...and if they're willing to go to measures that extreme, some self-evaluation is in order.
